ABOUT US

Chedon Chihuahuas is a small hobby breeder kennel.
Chedon was established in 1984 when Donna and her mom, Cheryl Cunningham started showing, breeding, and raising Yorkshire Terriers and Pugs.   We were active until 1997 when Mom got sick and
Donna decided to raise her two-legged daughters.   Mom passed away in 2000. Donna’s husband Tom was showing Pointers during this time also under the kennel name of Camelot.   Tom passed away in 2005 from Colon Cancer.   Donna was re-married to Ricky in 2007 who had a love of chihuahuas.
What I thought was something I loved…and lost;   In 2014 I decided I wanted to show again. I contacted Barb Beissel about a Silky Terrier and purchased Cinderella.   Showing Cinderella turned out to be a challenge as I had to travel long distances to find points.

Although I love the breed and will always have one.  My good friend Paula kept telling me to come check out the chihuahuas.  Of course, Ricky was all for that from his love of the breed.  I watched 4 litters grow up and chose a pair, one of them being my heart dog Elsa.  We call her the one who started it all.
We have a few litters each year, breeding for health, temperament, and the standard.  We breed first for our next show dog. All dogs are AKC registered.  Parents are health tested for their CHIC and by
Embark.
Although I do most of the work, it would not be possible without Ricky at home taking care of the crew who does not go to show while I travel.  He is the spoiler of the babies.
